HOUSE OF GRAPHITE

General's Sketch & Wash #588 is a water-soluble (aquarelle) graphite pencil that writes and looks like ordinary graphite when dry, but whose marks dissolve completely when a wet brush is passed over them, letting the artist spread liquid graphite as a wash. It is an all-surface pencil that can draw and write on most surfaces including wood, glass and plastic, and is often combined with watercolour, coloured pencil and pen-and-ink. Made in the USA from genuine sustained-yield incense cedar, it is a single-grade pencil sold individually or in multipacks. This specimen: Sketch & Wash #588 in grade Single Grade.
