ARCHIVIST'S NOTES
The Nataraj Gold is a wood-cased HB writing pencil made by Hindustan Pencils Ltd. of India, recognisable by its gold-and-black striped barrel and hexagonal shape. It carries a single universal HB graphite grade and is marketed for everyday writing, drawing and sketching across school and professional use. It is sold both plain and as a rubber-tipped variant (Gold RT) with an attached eraser, and remains a current product in Nataraj's writing-pencil range.
