HOUSE OF GRAPHITE

The uni Penmanship pencil (硬筆書写用鉛筆, Kouhitsu Shosha) is Mitsubishi Pencil's wood-cased pencil made for hard-pen penmanship and character practice, engineered so it can reproduce brush-style strokes such as stops (tome), flicks (hane) and sweeps (harai). It uses an unusually thick 4.0mm graphite core infused with a special oil that reduces friction for smoother writing, and is offered only in the soft 4B and 6B grades, in both a standard hexagonal barrel and a triangular grip-correction barrel. Made in Japan and aimed mainly at students learning handwriting, it is also valued for drawing and everyday dark-line writing. This specimen: uni Penmanship in grade 4B.
