uni Palette is Mitsubishi Pencil Co.'s "uni"-brand kakikata (かきかた / 書き方, "how to write") range of wood-cased school pencils for children beginning to write, made in Japan. It is sold mainly in soft grades centred on 2B, with B, 4B and 6B also offered, in simple, single-colour barrel designs. The standard barrel is hexagonal (6角), with a triangular grip-training version (model 4825) also produced; the line is current, with new single-colour designs released in November 2025. This specimen: uni Palette in grade 4B.
