HOUSE OF GRAPHITE

Sold under the STAEDTLER 180 / Noris eco 180 (and 180 neon) names, this is a hexagonal pencil made from WOPEX — an extruded wood-polymer composite of roughly 70% wood (from PEFC-certified German forests) and about 30% plastic, rather than traditional bonded-slat wood, though it still sharpens like an ordinary wooden pencil. It is valued for high break resistance and a non-slip, rubberised surface, and reviewers note that the leads run noticeably hard for their stated grade (a marked HB writing closer to a traditional 2H). The Noris eco 180 is made in Germany in five degrees (2B, B, HB, H, 2H) for general writing, drawing and sketching, while the original 180 and 180 neon are sold mainly in HB and some North-American versions add an attached eraser.
