ARCHIVIST'S NOTES
The Faber-Castell Grip 2001 is a triangular silver graphite pencil with a patented soft-grip zone of raised dots for slip-free, comfortable writing; its industrial design won numerous international awards after launch. Made in Germany from sustainably sourced wood and finished with a water-based varnish, it is sold in five grades (2H, H, HB, B, 2B) and is positioned primarily as an everyday writing pencil, though Faber-Castell also markets it for drawing and sketching. The standard pencil has no eraser (its cap is dipped in a colour matching the grade), but a separate eraser-tipped variant is also available.
