ARCHIVIST'S NOTES
The Faber-Castell Graphite Aquarelle is a water-soluble graphite pencil: its 3.3 mm lead draws like an ordinary graphite pencil, then dissolves with a wet brush to produce watercolour-style washes. It is offered in five degrees of hardness (HB, 2B, 4B, 6B and 8B) in a hexagonal, extra break-resistant barrel made of PEFC-certified wood and finished with a water-based varnish. Intended for preliminary sketches, classic watercolour painting and mixed media, it is made in Germany and also sold as a set bundled with a round brush.
