HOUSE OF GRAPHITE

The graphite pencils in Faber-Castell's luxury Graf von Faber-Castell range are made from finely fluted Californian cedar in a round, easy-to-sharpen barrel, and are sold in a natural brown finish (B-grade lead, roughly 71% graphite and 23% clay) and a stained black finish (a softer 4B lead, roughly 79% graphite and 15% clay). They are positioned as luxury writing pencils and offered both as sets of three desk pencils and as short refill "pocket pencils" meant to be used with the brand's metal Perfect Pencil cap, which carries an integrated sharpener and a replaceable eraser. The wood-cased pencils themselves are made in Germany and have no eraser, finishing instead in a chamois-coloured end stamped with the logo.
