ARCHIVIST'S NOTES
Cretacolor Graphite Aquarelle (article 180) is a water-soluble artist graphite pencil with a cedar casing, offered in three grades: HB, 4B and 8B. The graphite can be worked dry like an ordinary pencil or brushed over with water to dissolve it into watercolour-style tonal washes, making it suited to sketching, mixed media and pre-sketching watercolour and silk paintings. It is part of the artist range from the Austrian manufacturer Cretacolor.
